What We Value

Our values at Nou Moon are supported by people and relationships. We try to make conscious decisions that gear our operations towards a more environmentally friendly approach, that promotes equal opportunity and preserves our planet as much as possible.

Repurpose & Materials

Our jewellery uses recycled brass and silver. We want to minimise the impact of extraction on resources and the environment.

In line with slow fashion and reducing the waste we produce. We created a range of clothing that is made from used saris, we love that each cloth has its own story. One that has been retold through each person that has loved wearing it. Our saris are either pure silk or silk blend. You can learn more here.

Our labels are printed with eco-cert dyes on cotton. Our dungarees are also made with cotton or hemp using traditional methods of production.

Women Empowerment

We count ourselves lucky to be working with Manushi - an all women co-operative who not only hand knit our socks but also have a hand in the harvest of the wool. Our head of operations managers Heera (which translates to Diamond in Hindi) and Honey Singh handle the production and quality of the garments and hand knitted items.

Packaging

All our products sent to you will come packaged in recyclable packaging. The cardboard is FSC certified from recycled paper and sustainable forestry. 

Our jewellery and bags are made from the offcuts from our sari clothing material. We try and reduce as much waste as possible, therefore we encourage you to re-use your packaging to carry your other treasures.

Unfortunately some of the jewellery and clothing we receive are packaged in plastic cellophane, we are open to find ways to reduce the amount that is received and also actively recycle the waste so it doesn’t end up in landfill.
